PC Hardware: what is it all about

    Sunday, January 31st, 2010

From Cheap Fujitsu notebook computers. We all use Personal Computers but only a few know the parts that make up the desktop wonder that we face to  every single day. You probably know about the keyboard or the mouse or the flat screen monitor that you have right now on your desk but do you also know about the parts that allow you to store files or  the ones that make you open windows all at  the same time? What about that part that is responsible for giving you clear cut pictures when viewing photos or when playing a game? There are a lot of  things that you do not know yet about Desktop Computers and it’s about time that you find them out.

The Desktop is made up of what  is called the Desktop Computer Hardware, which is housed in that box where the cd and dvd cases are and where all the wires go. This box is actually called the CPU  or  the central processing unit. It is  called central because it is the heart of  the whole Computer.  When it breaks down, you may need to  change the whole thing.

The Hardware that is most important is the processor which from the name is the one that processes all the information and data that you put in. The faster your processor is, the faster your Personal Computer will be. This is the one responsible for lags and for hangs when you are doing PC work.

Another important part is the hard disk where people store their files. The bigger the capacity  of your hard disk, the more files you will be able  to store. If you are the kind of person who stores their music in their Computer along with files and photos, you need a disk space that is larger than usual.

The same goes with the Memory or  the RAM which is  important in doing multiple tasks. The RAM stores the memory of  the processes that you have left when you opened the other windows to do other tasks. Having a big memory will mean faster processes  and lesser lags.

If you deal with photos or play games in your Personal Computer, you need graphic cards.  This is especially true with layout artists and those that use adobe photoshop. Having a good graphic card will allow you to view your photos in vivid forms. It will not be pixelized plus loading them will not be difficult. It will be a breeze.

The Parts Found Inside Your Computer

    Sunday, January 31st, 2010

From affordable notebook buyer’s tips. Your Desktop does not only consist of your monitor, keyboard and mouse, which you usually use. Remember that box where you put in the cds that you use? That’s the CPU or the Central Processing Unit. This contains the lifeblood and heart of the Desktop Computer. It houses the vital parts that operate every process that you do.

When you open your CPU, there are several parts that you will see inside. Get familiar with every part and see how each contributes to how your desktop works.

One of the most important parts of the PC is the processor. This is the part that powers the Computer and does all the processes. Processors are defined by their brands and their speeds. The faster the speed is, the better will be the performance of the PC. For instance, Computers with fast processors will be able to take on multiple tasks and will speedily open a page or a program as opposed to those with slower processors.

Another important component is the hard drive. This is where you will be storing all your files, including your music and your photos. The hard drive is defined by their gigabytes. The higher the gigabytes, the bigger is the storage capacity. The bigger the storage capacity, the more files you will be able to store into the PC. Hard drives in most Computers are partitioned into two or three. One is often dedicated to the programs and the operating system like Windows and Office. The other partitions will be for the files.

The RAM or the random access memory stands as the short term memory bank of the PC. It is the one that allows you to open multiple windows and several programs without crashing the system. The more memory you have, the more programs you will be able to open simultaneously in faster rates. It is also defined through gigabytes like the hard drive.

The graphics memory card is the one responsible for the picture quality of a Personal Computer. The higher the gigabyte of the graphics card, the better will be the colors. Pictures will be more vivid and less pixelized. Graphics cards with high memory are often used when Computers have graphic PC games installed or when the owner frequently deals with photos.

Another important part of the CPU is the modem. This is the one that connects you to the internet. Some modems are outside the Computer while others are embedded in the motherboard.
